Day 3 found us up bright and early to photograph the Statue of Liberty and the Louvre.

Sister Lady Liberty on the Île des Cygnes in the River Seine, facing the same direction as her New York relative. The dates on it are July 4, 1776 (American Declaration of Independence) and July 14, 1789 (the storming of the Bastille). It’s a beautiful reminder of the historic ties between France and America. They had our back on a number of occasions.
The Louvre is huge, so rather than document every picture with artist and description (I’m more about appreciating the beauty than memorizing facts, anyway), I snapped off a number of pictures I’ll continue in the next post. You will recognize quite a few, though. The Mona Lisa, Vénus de Milo, the Coronation of Napoleon (Le Sacre de Napoléon), etc…
