Our Parisian Vacation, part 17

Posted by Lydia Lee on Jul 23, 2012

Day 7 found us on our way to… England!!!

So, this is a detour from our “Parisian Vacation”, but we did travel there from Paris, so…

We took the Eurostar early and arrived 2 hours and 15 minutes after departure. Cool right?? It is because the train literally tunnels under the English Channel. In fact, as soon as it grew dark Doug turned to me and said, “I can smell the water.”

We arrived around noon and signed up for a bus tour of London, which is really convenient because buses are set up all day to pick up and drop off tourists at certain stops, so you can ride for a bit and then abandon the bus and walk around. Also, we really lucked out because the day was gorgeous! Every other day in London during our vacation was mostly rainy.

Wellington Arch in Hyde Park.

Big Ben

Parliament

St. Paul’s Cathedral

Queen Anne in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral

Tip of the Monument to the Great Fire of London

The Shard, the tallest building in Europe.

Neat!

De Moi

About UsThis site is dedicated to photography, watercolor art, knitted things and my Francophile tendencies. I also post light technical support ideas for neat web design tricks and fixes, and I have been known to occasionally rant about nonsense. The company name is Don’t Brake My Art. A command and a cute turn of phrase.
