UPDATE: I added a Ravelry icon, per request. It’s not featured below, but is in included in the download, nonetheless. Picture is feature here.
Dawson–a commenter here–completely read my mind as I verbally ruminated on replacing a set of social networking icons on my knitting blog. I grabbed the best set I could find, at the time, but let’s face it, a knitting blog needs knitted icons, so I made them myself. I could try to describe how much fun I had, but it is probably not possible. The combination of knitting and web art (two things that bring me joy, though knitting does tend to make me quite angry-lol), is just too much fun to describe. … Okay, I’ll try. SQUEEEEEEE!!!!
They don’t really work on a small scale, because of the detail, so check out my knitting blog to see what I did. I reduced them to 100 pixels for a 205 pixel left column, but I only use four, so it really doesn’t take up that much space. If I need more I’ll probably create a right column to give everything symmetry.
Enjoy!

This site is dedicated to photography, watercolor art, knitted things and my Francophile tendencies. I also post light technical support ideas for neat web design tricks and fixes, and I have been known to occasionally rant about nonsense.
The company name is Don’t Brake My Art. A command and a cute turn of phrase.
LL – I love ‘em! What a great way to combine the 2 ideas.
Sorry i haven’t been adding my 2 cents. I’m just back to work after a knee repair and it’s been a ….,
I haven’t missed a thing though.
Keep up the outstanding work!
Andy!!! So good to hear from you. Thank you.
Sorry to hear about your knee, but also very glad you are through the worst bit and recoving. I had to go back and find it, but Dawson had this message for you on 6.23.11:
“@Andy: Where the heck are you? Last I heard you were going to the doctor for a procedure and then nothing. Hey Anna, if something is wrong health wise and you read this contact Lydia for my email and let me know–again, it may be a week or so before I can get back to you, but at least a message can be there waiting for me. Maybe we all should have back-up email contacts. Just last week I thought I was going to have to go back into the VA Hospital myself with a reoccurring problem.”
What’s next, little animated movement? Awesome stuff… those really do look great. Nice work Lydia.
in the tabs that hang off the right… a set that hangs left, top and bottom would be a nice way to round out the set if you wanted to keep it going? Just a thought
It’s so hot and humid we just had a brown out and I lost everything smart assed I’d tryed to write.
So I’ll just settle for: Beautiful, exactly what I imaged you could come up with.
However, any image like that I should think you should add a bar at the bottom that would automatically travel with anyone’s cut and paste job with your (c) 2011 Lydia Lee, and your Knitting Blog address, so as people share they also mentally give you credit and then add themselves to your knitting blog community.
@Andy: Yeah good to see you feel up to getting back on-line. My problem was my back went out and I was moving around in pain all hunched over like an old man needing a walker. All from picking up and pouring a 15 lbs. bag of cat food wrong. I miss having Sassy around to walk on my back like a chiropracter when this happens.
Duh me! When I went back and looked at Jan Cavan’s Burlap icons there was what you need, a Knitted Header with your Blog info to add to certain “shared” images.
Now I’d like to see your Mohawk Blog Babe at the top of this site, including the words: Home; About; Blog; Video; Pictures; TTK and GWP all knitted.
@alex–Hmmm…. that does sound nice. And yes, I thought about an animated set. I may do that in the next few days.
@Dawson–Ah yes! A download picture with my information on it. Of course!
